Dem Congressman: I ‘Deserve’ to be Protected by Guns, My Constituents DON’T

It’s truly not difficult to defeat a liberal in a debate. They will duck and dodge and shout “racist,” but sticking to facts is the surest way to defeat a liberal as their ideology relies upon emotion almost entirely.

Case-in-point: New York Democrat Charlie Rangel enthusiastically joined the 26-hour Democrat temper tantrum on Wednesday and sat on the floor of the House of Representatives to demand legislation that would undermine the Second Amendment.

When reporters confronted Rangel with reports of the difficulties in obtaining a concealed weapons permit in New York, the far-left congressman replied that he was happy that it was so difficult for his constituents to procure the means of self-defense.

New York police officers have been arrested for allegedly abusing the rigorous system and accepting bribes from desperate New Yorker seeking to gain firearms and the permits to use them for self-defense.

When confronted with this news, Rangel said, “I’m glad to hear you say that very few people get [permits].”
“We don’t need that many guns,” Rangel continued. “I didn’t know that briberies were involved in getting a gun, and that is wrong, but overall, if it is difficult to get a concealed weapon permit, I’m glad to hear that.”

When asked if he felt the same about the rights of his own Harlem constituents, Rangel refused to budge.

“I wouldn’t want them to have it. I know what you’re trying to say. Corruption is corruption, and it’s bad,” Rangel said.

“Law-abiding citizens just shouldn’t have to carry a gun. You’re not gonna push me in that direction,” he concluded as he stood just feet from an armed Capitol police officer.

When the Daily Caller reporter noted that Rangel is protected by an armed security presence, Rangel unbelievably stated that it was “different” in that he “deserved” to be protected.

“Well that’s a little different. I think we deserve–I think we need to be protected down here.” Rangel insisted.

That is perhaps the most-telling statement ever offered by a politician. It offers a sobering glimpse into the mindset of liberal America.

There is, so far as elite liberals are concerned, a set of rules for some of us and not for others. People like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, members of Congress and billionaires like Michael Bloomberg all “deserve” armed security details. The rest of us peasants, however, so far as liberals are concerned, should be disallowed from obtaining the means to defend our lives or the lives of family members.

If this is not the very definition of hypocrisy, I am not sure what is…
